Biography
Based in Amsterdam, Portuguese - Colombian violinist Inês Díez is active both in chamber music and orchestral fields, having performed in the Grachtenfestival, Uitmarkt Festival, Echoes of Nothing concert series at the Muziekgebouw aan ‘t IJ, Gergiev Festival, Operadagen Rotterdam and Opera Forward Festival.
She has played as well several projects with the orchestras Philharmonic Orchestra Flanders, Orquestra XXI, Het Zeeuws Orkest, and Orquestra Clássica da Madeira (Portugal) and been a member of the Youth Orchestras NJO/ Nationaal Jeugdorkest and Youth Orchestra Flanders, working under the baton of conductors such as Antony Hermus, Gustavo Gimeno, Anu Tali, Dinis Sousa, Valery Gergiev, Yoel Levi, Arie van Beek, Georg Fritzsch, Jac van Steen, Martijn Dendievel, among others.
Born in Madeira Island in Portugal, Inês Díez began her violin studies with Elena Kononenko at Conservatório- Escola Profissional das Artes da Madeira. She went on to pursue her bachelor studies at Codarts - Rotterdam with Natalia Morozova and her master and postgraduate at the Koninklijk Conservatorium Brussel in the class of Philippe Graffin.
She additionally attended lessons and masterclasses with Philippe Graffin, David Peralta Alegre, Sarah Oates, Nadja Nevolovitsch, Eliot Lawson, Alissa Margulis, Ilya Grubert, Letizia Sciarone and Igor Gruppman.
Inês plays a Jules Gaillard violin, acquired with the support of the Stichting Eigen Muziekinstrument.
