Reencounters Duet

A collaboration with the percussionist Daniel Bolba, the Reencounters Duet is a project through which they pursue a fresh, modern flavour in classical music programmes with this unconventional ensemble formation. 

 

Beginning both their musical studies at Conservatório - Escola das Artes in their home island Madeira, Daniel Bolba and Inês Díez met again in the Netherlands and began their duet in 2021.

In 2022 they commissioned the piece Red Roof-Green Wall for marimba and violin to the Dutch composer and timpanist Nick Woud, which they have recorded and presented in several live performances in the Netherlands and in Belgium.

They have ever since performed at the RCO House, Uitmarkt Festival, Grachtenfestival, OUTDOORS festival, among others.

Eager to expand the literature for this unconventional formation, Reencounters seeks to collaborate with composers and dive into not widely known repertoire, aspiring to reinvent the place of modern music in classical programs.
